Douglass Township Police, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop L of Reading, conducted an aggressive driver detail on Route 422 Westbound Tuesday morning.
According to Police, 28 contacts were made and 26 citations were issued. This included 23 citations for speed, 1 for careless driving, and 2 for equipment violations.
The top speed during the detail was clocked at 83mph in a 45mph work zone, which Police say the driver received a $360 fine and possible license suspension.
“The Douglass Township Police would like to remind people to slow down, especially in work zones, emergency response areas, and in areas where tow truck drivers are assisting disabled motorists” states a release from the department.
“Move over when possible and drive like these workers are your own family. Don’t be the reason they don’t go home to their families tonight!”
