Brush cutting, nighttime construction: PennDOT upcoming roadwork March 3, 2025

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced multiple roadwork projects scheduled to take place across Berks County between March 3 and March 7, 2025. Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution while traveling through these work zones.

Construction will take place on Interstate 78 between Exit 29 (PA 61) and Exit 30 (Hamburg). Lane restrictions will be in place in both directions during nighttime hours from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The work is scheduled to begin on March 3 and is expected to be completed by March 6. PennDOT has confirmed that rain will not cause any delays for this project.

In Windsor and Perry Townships, roadwork on Windsor Castle Road between Virginville Road and Leiby Road will result in daytime lane restrictions with flagging. The work will take place from March 3 to March 7, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution when driving through the work zone. The work is weather-dependent, and rain may cause delays.

Brush cutting operations will take place on Summer Mountain Road between PA 183 and PA 419 in Tulpehocken and Jefferson Townships. Lane restrictions with flagging will be in effect during daytime hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from March 3 to March 5. Drivers should expect delays and proceed with caution in the work zone. Rain may cause delays in the scheduled work.

Brush cutting will also take place on Rebers Bridge Road between Palisades Drive and Upper Van Reed Road in Bern Township. Lane restrictions with flagging will be in place from March 6 to March 7 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Drivers should expect minor delays and use caution when traveling through the area. Rain may impact the work schedule.

PennDOT maintenance forces will be conducting brush cutting on Interstate 78 between the Lebanon County Line and Exit 23 (Shartlesville) in Bethel Township. There will be no lane restrictions, but delays are expected. Work will take place from March 3 to March 6 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day, and rain may cause delays.

Brush cutting will also take place along US 422 between the Lebanon County Line and Bernville Road in Heidelberg Township. While no lane restrictions will be in place, delays are expected, and drivers are encouraged to proceed with caution. The work is scheduled for March 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and may be delayed by rain.

On Interstate 78 West, brush cutting will be performed between Exit 30 (Hamburg) and Exit 35 (PA 143) in Tilden and Windsor Townships. There will be no restrictions for westbound shoulder work, but motorists should expect delays. The work is scheduled from March 3 to March 7 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and rain may affect the schedule.

In Tilden Township, brush cutting will take place on PA 61 between the Schuylkill County Line and Lowland Road. A northbound lane restriction will be in place on March 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Drivers should expect delays and use caution while traveling through the area. Rain may impact the work schedule.

Additionally, construction will take place on PA 61 between Blue Mountain Drive and Cabela’s Drive in Tilden Township. A northbound lane restriction will be in effect from March 3 to March 5 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. PennDOT has stated that rain will not delay this project.
