Brush cutting, utility work, pothole patching: PennDOT upcoming roadwork Feb. 5, 2024

PennDOT maintenance forces and private contractors have scheduled several construction projects in Berks County this week. To help our readers avoid travel delays, here are a few of the most notable projects.

In Ruscombmanor Township, there will be daytime lane restrictions at the PA 12/PA 73 intersection for utility work by the Local Utility. These restrictions are in effect from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM starting on 2/5/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/9/24, and rain is not expected to cause delays.

Construction work on Interstate 78 West, between Exit 29 (PA 61) and Exit 30 (Hamburg), will result in daytime lane restrictions in both directions. This PennDOT Contractor project begins on 2/8/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/8/24, and rain is not anticipated to cause delays.

Wyomissing Borough and the City of Reading will experience lane restrictions on PA 12 between River Road and US 422 due to construction work by a PennDOT Contractor. Expect delays from 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM starting on 2/5/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/9/24, and rain may cause delays.

In Wyomissing Borough, US 422 will have nighttime lane restrictions between Wyomissing Boulevard and US 222 for other work by a PennDOT Contractor. This restriction is from 07:00 PM to 06:00 AM starting on 2/8/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/9/24, and rain is not expected to cause delays.

The City of Reading will have brush cutting work on US 422 between the Lebanon County Line and Montgomery County Line. No restrictions are in place, but work is being done on Westbound directions from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM starting on 2/5/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/9/24. Rain may cause delays.

Eastbound lane restrictions for pothole patching work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces will result in delays on US 422 between Penn Avenue and I-176 in multiple municipalities. This daytime restriction is in effect from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM starting on 2/5/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/9/24, and rain is expected to cause delays.

Shoulder work for brush cutting on Interstate 78 between Exit 30 (Hamburg) and Exit 35 (PA 143) in Tilden Township will occur during the daytime from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM starting on 2/5/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/8/24. Rain is anticipated to cause delays.

Other work, described as drainage, will result in daytime lane restrictions with flagging on Boundary Line Road in Jefferson Township between Tilden Road and Shartlesville Road. Expect delays from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM starting on 2/5/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/6/24. Rain may cause delays.

Shartlesville Road in Jefferson Township will experience lane restrictions in both directions with flagging for drainage work between Old Route 22 and PA 183. Expect delays from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM starting on 2/7/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/9/24. Rain may cause delays.

Brush cutting work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces on County Line Road in Bethel Township, between Little Mountain Road and Meckville Road, will result in daytime lane restrictions in both directions with flagging. Expect delays from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM starting on 2/5/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/9/24. Rain may cause delays.

On Interstate 176 North, between Exit 2 (PA 10/PA 23) and Exit 7 (PA 10), daytime shoulder restrictions are in place for utility work by the Local Utility from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM starting on 2/7/24, with an estimated completion date of 2/8/24, and rain is not expected to cause delays.
