Cumru Township Police announce road closures and parking restrictions for Governor Mifflin Community Days

The Cumru Township Police Department has issued a notice of parking restrictions and temporary road closures in preparation for the 49th Annual Greater Governor Mifflin League Community Days, scheduled to take place from Friday, June 27 through Saturday, July 5, 2025.

The event, held on the Governor Mifflin Intermediate School Campus off Governor Drive, is expected to draw large crowds and increased traffic in the area. In the interest of public safety, police will enforce the following restrictions throughout the duration of the event:

  • No parking on the 500 block of Governor Drive, from Eric Avenue to Elkins Avenue, from June 27 through July 5.
  • No parking on the 200 block of Elkins Avenue, from Governor Drive to Marshall Drive, from June 27 through July 5.
  • No parking along the entire length of Governor Drive, from Philadelphia Avenue to Elkins Avenue, on July 5.
  • No parking along the entire length of Elkins Avenue, from Governor Drive to Harding Avenue, on July 5.

Additionally, a full road closure will occur on July 5 starting at 7:00 p.m., covering:

  • Governor Drive from Philadelphia Avenue to Elkins Avenue
  • Elkins Avenue from Marshall Drive to Governor Drive

This closure will remain in place until the conclusion of the fireworks display and the safe return to normal traffic flow in the area.

Police advise that all areas impacted will be marked with appropriate signage. Vehicles parked in violation of these restrictions may be towed at the owner’s expense. Unauthorized vehicles on closed roads or restricted areas are subject to penalties under PA Vehicle Code 3111(a).
