The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced several roadwork projects scheduled across Berks County during the week of March 24, 2025. Drivers are encouraged to plan for potential delays and use caution when traveling through the affected areas.
In Tilden Township, brush cutting will take place along PA 61 between the Schuylkill County Line and Lowland Road. A northbound lane restriction will be in effect on March 28 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect delays, and PennDOT notes that rain may cause work interruptions.
Also in Tilden Township, brush cutting is scheduled along Interstate 78 between Exit 30 (Hamburg) and Exit 35 (PA 143). The work will be conducted from March 24 through March 27 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. While no lane restrictions are planned, delays are possible. Rain may affect the project timeline.
In Bern Township, PennDOT maintenance forces will be paving PA 183 (Bernville Road) between Plum Creek Road and North Heidelberg Road. The project will take place from March 24 to March 28, with a lane restriction and flagging in place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. Drivers should expect delays, and the work is weather-dependent.
Additionally, sweeping operations are planned on PA 61 between the Schuylkill County Line and West Huller Lane in Tilden and Perry townships. While there will be no restrictions for southbound traffic, delays are expected between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. from March 24 through March 28. Motorists are urged to use caution in the work zone.
