In the interest of conducting a thorough and comprehensive investigation, the 400 block of Penn Ave was temporarily closed in both directions for approximately three and a half hours.

Authorities say the closure allowed investigators to carefully gather evidence, interview witnesses, and reconstruct the scene to gain a clearer understanding of the circumstances leading up to the incident.

“The West Reading Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to the community for their patience and cooperation during the temporary road closure. The safety of the public remains a top priority, and investigators are working diligently to ensure a thorough examination of all relevant details” says a statement from the department.
