The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation invites the public to a virtual plans display for a project to replace the superstructure on the PA 10 (Morgantown Road) Bridge over Tributary to Conestoga Creek in Caernarvon Township and New Morgan Borough, Berks County.
The project will include the replacement of the existing superstructure with steel beam precast concrete deck modules that will be supported on the existing concrete wall abutments. Roadway improvements include full depth reconstruction of the bridge approaches, guiderail upgrades, updated signage, and other miscellaneous improvements.
All individuals who view the displays showing the proposed improvements are encouraged to offer comments via a downloadable survey form. Individuals or groups with a demonstrated interest within the project limits, surrounding businesses, and local property owners are encouraged to participate.
PennDOT invites community members to provide public input for the project. To access the webpage, visit www.PennDOT.gov/District5 click on the Public Meetings link under the District Links heading, pick the Berks County box, and then choose the PA 10 Bridge Over a Tributary to Conestoga Creek project tile. The digital version of the information will be available to view online until December 19, 2022.
The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project and solicit public input, questions, or concerns regarding the project. It is also an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project’s potential effect upon Cultural Resources pursuant to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation’s 36 CFR Part 800 regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
