Lower Heidelberg announced it will be replacing the Papermill Road Bridge this week. The new bridge construction project will begin in June and is estimated to be completed in August.
During construction, Papermill Road will be closed from Reber’s Bridge Road to Tulpehocken Road. Detour signs have been posted and residents of Papermill Road and The Legacy Development will be allowed to exit and enter via Papermill Road from Reber’s Bridge Road.
Lower Heidelberg Township also announced local residents will need to show identification if traveling into the closed section of road. According to a press release, all non-residents of Papermill Road and The Legacy Development found traveling or attempting to enter the closed section will be ticketed. Anyone found going around or attempting to move barriers will be ticketed, which starts at $116.50.
During the bridge replacement process, fishing and other water activities are prohibited in and around the construction site.
Detour: Use Van Reed Road, to State Hill Road, to connect back with Reber’s Bridge Road.
