Video: Tow truck rotator used to remove vehicle stuck on fence in downtown Reading

A car crashed into a fence near the intersection of South 5th & Cherry Street in Reading Sunday November 19, 2023, at 1:00pm. According to Initial reports, the vehicle was described as lodged halfway onto the fence, leaning to one side as the driver was still inside, with a noticeable smell of gasoline.

Firefighters responded to the incident and successfully extracted the victim, who was transported to the hospital, condition unknown.

A rotator tow truck was deployed to lift the vehicle vertically off the fence as firefighters addressed the active gasoline leak. The 400 block of Cherry Street was closed for a little more than an hour as crews removed the car from the fence and plugged the ruptured fuel tank.
