Vice President Kamala Harris visited Berks County Tuesday to celebrate National Voter Registration Day alongside students at Reading Area Community College.
As the third stop on the Vice President’s month-long “Fight for Our Freedoms” college tour, Harris participated in a moderated conversation with actress Annie Gonzalez.
While I’m stage, the two discussed key issues impacting young people across America, from reproductive freedom and gun safety to climate action, voting rights, LGBTQ+ equality, mental health, and book bans. Before leaving, she urged attendees to register to vote and fielded questions directly from students.
Following her visit to RACC, the Vice President traveled to a job training facility in Spring Township at IBEW Local 743, where she spoke with members of an apprenticeship program to highlight the Administration’s commitment to union job training programs.
