5/25/21 7:30pm – RAWA is reporting some customers may experiencing some residual water loss areas due to reimplementing water through the 36” main. Water pressure should be restored to affected areas quickly.
As of Tuesday evening, Route 61 (Pottsville Pike) in Muhlenberg Township is still closed between Tuckerton Road and Reading Crest Avenue as crews repair the road.
5/24/21 – The 4200 Block Pottsville Pike (Route 61 near Water Street) in Muhlenberg Township has been closed Monday afternoon due to a water main break.
Reading Area Water Authority has reported a 36″ main break has left as many as 2000 customers experiencing low to no water pressure in our Northeast section of the City of Reading.
“We are close to achieving a complete shut down now. Once we achieve a complete shut down, all areas will be back to full pressure excluding the 4200 Block Pottsville Pike” reads a statement from RAWA.
As a precaution, RAWA officials say they are issuing a boil water advisory to the Northeastern section via Swift Reach.
