According to the USGS, a small earthquake, magnitude 1.0, shook Berks County early Monday morning. The earthquake was recorded on July 29th at a depth of 2 kilometers, North Northeast of Wyomissing Hills, PA, near the the Grings Mill Recreation Area.
The recorded time was 1:18am. The earthquake was picked up by multiple monitoring stations. However, a 1.0 magnitude earthquake is not typically noticeable on the surface.
This makes six USGS recorded earthquakes in Berks County in 2019.
