Strong thunderstorms rolled through Berks County Wednesday evening bringing heavy rain, wind, and temporary relief to the hot temperatures.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning and Flood Advisory was issued for Southeastern parts of the County.
As the storms moved in, first responders quickly became busy with downed trees on roads in several municipalities. Most notably, in West Reading, high winds caused the banner sign which spans Penn Ave to fall into the street.
In the City of Reading, several cars and their occupants became stranded in flood water in the Spring Street Subway. Also, a tree fell onto an unoccupied car in the 1000 block of North 12th Street.
