UGI is working to replace a natural gas main pipeline and service lines along Penn Avenue, also known as 422 Business. The project began in October 2023, with work initially expected to last two months.

Looking ahead, the final touch to the project is scheduled for the spring of 2024, with complete curb-to-curb paving restoration planned. This marks the concluding phase of the project, promising a smoother, upgraded Penn Avenue for West Reading residents and businesses.

The Borough is advising that residents should anticipate some noise and dust associated with construction activities. UGI Utilities has assured the community that they will make every effort to minimize inconvenience during the project.
