Since 2020, Multi-Service operates the Ricketts Center on behalf of Pottstown Borough which owns the facility. Charles previously served as the director for the Ricketts Center for approximately seven years under a prior operator and served as interim Executive Director beginning earlier this year.

According to Matthew Hovey, the President of the Board of Directors, “Jocelyn is a high character professional who will lead our organization with a steady, purposeful hand.”

Hovey also stated that “Jocelyn’s experience leading the Ricketts Center uniquely qualifies her as someone who can bridge the Boyertown and Pottstown communities in terms of collaboration and outreach so that Multi-Service and our partner organizations may better serve people throughout our region.”

“My passion for engaging with the community and aiding them in whatever way I can keeps me going” said Charles. “I’ve always enjoyed working with and mentoring the youth but am honored to get the chance to expand my reach, not only in other communities but in working with different generations of community members. I get to learn from them, all of them, and use that knowledge to be a better, more understanding person and professional.”

Multi-Service’s programming includes the Center at Spring Street, Preston’s Pantry, the Rickett’s Center, Meals on Wheels, and case management services which include assistance with governmental programs like LIHEAP, annual tax preparation, rental assistance, and other needs.
