Breast Cancer Support Services appoints new members to Board of Directors

Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County has announced that Caitlin Long, Alan Ross, and Lisa Spencer have been elected to serve on the Board of Directors. The staff and volunteers congratulate and welcome Caitlin, Alan and Lisa to the BCSS family.

Caitlin Long, PA-C is the CEO and owner of Team Lifelong Wellness, LLC. As a board certified Physician Assistant, she has almost a decade of clinical experience, including Oncology & Survivorship. In addition to owning her own business Caitlin works at Alvernia University’s O’Pake Institute for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship, focusing on health & science innovations through the tech transfer office, and works part time clinically in Lehigh Valley’s ICU.

Caitlin is a dedicated wife, mother, a dog and outdoors lover, certified yoga instructor, PhD in Leadership candidate, and a comprehensive wellness coach & consultant, serving the Greater Berks area and beyond. She first got involved with BCSS in seeing how they supported her patients, and got to volunteer at the annual fashion show, now an event she looks forward to all year. She became involved with several committees and loves serving alongside the mission.

Alan Ross joins BCSS as Treasurer for the organization. Mr. Ross is the President and founder of Alan Ross & Company, PC, a Certified Public Accounting firm in Mt Penn, Pennsylvania. They provide accounting, tax, consulting and auditing services for small businesses including corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, along with not for profit organizations, employee benefit plans and individuals.

Alan currently serves as Vice President of the Consistory of St Paul’s UCC Church in Amityville. He has previously served as President and School Board Director of Daniel Boone Area School District. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Albright College and Berkshire Bank. He has worked as a volunteer with a number of area not for profit organizations. He lives with his family in Douglassville.

Lisa Spencer was born and raised in Detroit and lived in Chicago for 25 years, she landed in Pennsylvania in 2009. Lisa has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Radiation Therapy Technology and a Master’s degree of Adult Education. Lisa holds certifications in Radiation Therapy, Breast Imaging Navigation, Oncology Navigation and Mastectomy Fitting.

In 2011, Lisa began working at Penn State Health – St Joseph as the Breast Care Patient Navigator. Lisa has been an active volunteer with Breast Cancer Support Services since 2012 and was the Board President from 2015 to 2020. Lisa has now returned to the BCSS Board – she just can’t stay away!
