Reading Science Center appoints Ralia C. Vardaxis as new Executive Director

The Reading Science Center has appointed Ralia C. Vardaxis as its new Executive Director. Vardaxis brings a wealth of experience and expertise in development, marketing, communications, strategic programming, and management and has a proven track record of success in building solid relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Before joining the Reading Science Center, Vardaxis served as Assistant Vice President of Alumni & Donor Engagement at Albright College, where she developed and implemented strategies for relationship building, volunteer management, communication, and fundraising.

She has also held posts as Vice President of Development and Community Relations at Reading Symphony Orchestra and Assistant Vice President of Community Relations at Wachovia Bank.

Her experience and reputation in our community will enable Reading Science Center to continue to grow and further its mission of advancing STEM education in Berks County,” says Jim Cinelli, Reading Science Center Founder and Board President.

As Executive Director of the Reading Science Center, Vardaxis will oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations, develop and implement strategic plans, build relationships with donors and community partners, and work with the Board of Directors and staff to achieve the Reading Science Center’s mission.

“I grew up in Reading and have served my hometown throughout my career and volunteer activities. The Reading Science Center is an innovative addition to the local educational landscape, inspiring young minds through science. I am proud to join the dedicated staff and volunteers who created this wonderful place for our children to learn and explore!” says Vardaxis.

Vardaxis holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Communications from Albright College and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Alvernia University. She also holds a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University Center on Philanthropy.
