Aneyshka Aponte, baseball and softball player for the Berkshire Baseball & Softball Club, a subsidiary of the BIG Vision Foundation, has once again caught the eye of Major League Baseball.
Aponte, who will be heading into her senior year at Reading High School was selected for the MLB’s GRIT Series girl’s baseball event, which took place from March 7th through 10th, 2019 at Globe Life Park and the Texas Rangers Youth Academy in Dallas, Texas.

Since then, Aponte has traveled to Kansas City, Missouri to participate in MLB’s Softball Breakthrough Series over Memorial Day weekend and this coming weekend, she will once again be playing baseball as one of only 64 girls internationally participating in MLB’s Girl’s Baseball Breakthrough Series at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida.
To say Aponte is excited is an understatement. We caught up with her Wednesday night at Big Vision Sports Complex, “It’s going to be fun and a positive experience, I can’t wait” said Aponte.
The Breakthrough Series is a five-day development camp featuring amateur female baseball players that aims to provide elite training, individualized instruction, and educational opportunities led by current and former USA Baseball Women’s National Team players and former MLB players.
