Young musician Noah Gibney was well on his way to a musical career long before he left his home in Wyomissing for Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Before receiving a full tuition scholarship to one of the most prominent music schools in the country, the 2025 Wyomissing Area High School graduate had already packed his resume with some serious accomplishments.
“I would say that my biggest achievements before entering college were obviously my album, The Serendipity Sessions, which I co-wrote with American singer and musician G. Love during Covid, and the EP reaching President Biden, which earned recognition from the President and an invitation to meet in person following a Pennsylvania speech. We talked for about thirty minutes, and he gave me a message, ‘Don’t forget about me when you hit the charts.’ I also did touring and performing with professional musicians around the country,” Noah recalls the highlights from the years leading up to high school graduation.
Noah’s pre-college experiences were not accidental, but rather a culmination of years of hard work, focused on studying music and actively networking and putting himself out there for performance opportunities and collaborations with other musicians. All of this was carefully accomplished under the watchful eyes of his parents, Jeremy and Claire Gibney, who supported his dreams while gradually allowing him to spread his wings and fly.
When the time came to fly, he went north, where a full scholarship to his school of choice beckoned him to join them. “I have lived my life as a musician for as long as I can remember. Berklee was always the place I wanted to go to because it was one of the top music schools in the country. I wanted to be a better musician, and meet peers with the same goals. My goal was to build relationships with like-minded musicians who were doing the same things I was; collaborating with musicians, writing music and meeting as many musicians as I could. I feel like a did a very good job during my first year.”
Noah closed out his first year at Berklee with another critically acclaimed EP entitled Changin’ Times, released this past winter. “I worked with a lot of great musicians on the EP and did a release show in Reading and at Berklee. One of the songs from the EP, entitled “Philly Love”, was played on a Philadelphia Eagles live broadcast on Fox Sports. It was an incredible experience listening to the game, and all of a sudden my song is being played! Another highlight was when I got to perform with G. Love in October 2025 in Cape Cod at the Roots and Blues Festival. He is one of the best people, and has been very supportive of me as well as a great mentor.”
By the summer of 2026 Noah has rapidly become a stand-out musician recognized by some of the country’s top artists. His personal style as a soul-infused rock, funk, and jam band pianist and singer-songwriter has taken him around the US and Canada, bringing his high-energy blend of soulful songwriting, keyboard skills and deep grooves to audiences in cities including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, and Toronto.
Along the way, Noah has shared the stage with acclaimed artists/musicians G.Love, Oteil Burbridge (Dead and Company, Allman Brothers Band), George Porter Jr. (The Meters), John “JoJo” Herman (Widespread Panic), Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars), Adam Zimmon (Ziggy Marley), and Eric Marienthal (Elton John, Chick Corea).
“In general, it has been a crazy journey and the coolest journey. Getting to play with Oteill of Dead and Company was incredible for me. Playing with the people who performed at the music retreat, Roots and Rock Revival, where he is one of the people who runs it was great. He liked to bring me on stage to perform with Oteil and Friends. He has played with everyone!”
Noah has also toured with the group “Second Wind”, from Berklee, comprised of friends from college who started doing “dorm jams”, putting them out on social media, which got millions of views. “From there we started getting a following and decided to do some touring this summer. We were booked for a California tour, so in late May I did my first west coast tour, starting in San Francisco and ending in Los Angeles. We were really well received on the entire tour, and we decided that we will do something in the fall on the East Coast, and we will also be recording an album with all original music.”
The summer has been filled with lots of traveling, and some local shows to round out Noah’s music engagements before heading back to Berklee. “So I guess the California tour was part of the summer, then I did a lot of traveling with the Noah Gibney Band to Raleigh, NC, Minneapolis, and Toronto. In the area, I have played at Tellus 360 in Lancaster with Big Boy Brass, The Fightin’ Phils Pregame show, and Barley Mow. I have a show coming up Thursday, August 13th at Thorn Alley Stage at the Goggleworks.”
Noah has volunteered for the Wyomissing Mini Thon this summer, and took the time to perform for the residents at the Highlands, where his grandmother currently resides. “It brings her so much joy when I go there and play for her and the residents. I play the music that they know and love and they really enjoy it. Another local opportunity will be the Berks Jazz Fest this year, where I will have the opportunity to open for Emmet Cohen. Jazz Fest has been so good for me, as well as all of the educational programs surrounding it. It is a fabulous experience. We have some wonderful music and musicians here in Berks!”
Noah has found himself in the whirlwind world of a musician’s life very early in his career. How do you stay grounded while traveling around living your dream? “It is definitely very tricky, and it is an unusual job. This is what I’ve always wanted to do. The real love was the music. Because I love playing music, I will keep focused on the music and being the best singer-songwriter I can be. It is when they get into things other than the music that things happen. My focus is on the music, so I don’t think I will have any problems.”
