For 10-year-old Savannah Selig of Longswamp Township, a trip to an amusement park or haunted attraction is more than just a fun day out with her family. It’s also an opportunity to capture exciting moments on camera, create videos, and share those experiences with thousands of people online.
What began as a simple family YouTube channel has grown into Adventure With Savannah, a social media project featuring Savannah, her father Justin, and her mother Penny as they explore amusement parks, haunted attractions, seasonal events, and other destinations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
During a recent visit to Dorney Park in Allentown, the family offered a behind-the-scenes look at their creative process, sharing how they capture footage, produce videos, and document their experiences for their growing social media audience.

Along the way, Savannah has discovered a passion for video production, learning to film, edit, and create content with guidance from her father, who has years of experience producing videos through his storm chasing work.
“It’s always been my mission as a dad to go on adventures with my daughter on the weekend,” Justin said. “We always try to keep busy doing things.”
The family started their YouTube channel about four years ago, originally documenting their outings for fun. Justin said Savannah’s enthusiasm during their visits, whether dancing on rides or reacting to attractions, inspired him to begin recording more of their experiences.
As the videos became a regular part of their adventures, Savannah began taking a more active role in the creative process.
Today, she helps capture footage on her phone, selects clips, edits videos, and chooses music to match the experience. Justin assists with the process, reviews the finished videos, and handles posting them across the family’s social media platforms.
Savannah explained that filming begins as soon as they arrive at a destination, often starting with the attraction’s entrance sign before moving on to the rides, characters, or activities inside. Once home, she reviews the footage, removes unnecessary sections, adjusts the pacing, and adds music.
For haunted attraction videos, she particularly enjoys capturing close-up interactions with performers and the sliding actors who entertain visitors by sliding across the pavement.
“Normally I like to keep it in the middle between fast and slow so you still are able to see the character,” Savannah said, explaining how she approaches editing.
She also pays close attention to the music, often choosing energetic rock songs that complement the atmosphere of haunted attractions.
Justin said watching his daughter develop an understanding of pacing, camera angles, and editing techniques has been one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.

Before focusing more on the family project, Justin spent years building a following as a storm chaser, filming and editing videos for weather coverage and national news outlets. He eventually decided to scale back his storm chasing activities to spend more time with his family.
That decision opened the door to sharing his creative interests with Savannah.
“I’m glad that I can pass that down to my daughter as a father,” Justin said. “Because it’s something I’m passionate about.”
Savannah said her father’s work was what initially sparked her interest.
“When I first started the page, I was inspired by my dad,” she said, explaining that watching his YouTube videos made her want to try creating videos herself.
While the family’s YouTube channel has existed for several years, their online audience has grown significantly since they began regularly creating content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok in recent months.
At the time of the interview, Justin said Adventure With Savannah had accumulated approximately 11,500 followers across its social media platforms. He also reported that their content had generated approximately 3.9 million views during September and October.
Some of their most popular videos have featured haunted attraction performers, including a chainsaw character at Field of Screams and the Decayed Brigade sliding performers at Hersheypark. Justin said individual videos have attracted more than a million views.
Haunted attractions are among Savannah’s favorite destinations. Over the past year, the family has visited approximately 25 attractions across several states, according to Justin.
Savannah named Bates Motel, Field of Screams, and Devil’s Last Laugh among her favorites, although choosing just one destination isn’t easy.
She also enjoys amusement parks, and a trip to Walt Disney World remains at the top of her wish list.
With so many destinations to visit, keeping up with school and family responsibilities requires planning. Savannah said she sometimes completes homework on the school bus when the family has an outing scheduled after school. Justin said they plan trips around schoolwork and other commitments, occasionally traveling several hours to reach an attraction.
Despite the busy schedule, Savannah enjoys sharing her experiences with others, including friends from school who have discovered her videos online.
She said some friends regularly ask about her next adventure and look forward to seeing the videos afterward.
The family’s plans extend beyond amusement parks and Halloween attractions. With the holiday season approaching, they are preparing to feature Christmas lights, seasonal entertainment, and holiday-themed haunted attractions. Justin said the family has also been invited to collaborate on Christmas event coverage at Hersheypark and Six Flags Great Adventure.
Savannah is also interested in expanding into food reviews and other experiences. Among her ideas is visiting a sushi restaurant in the Harrisburg area where food travels along a conveyor belt and robots deliver orders to tables.
She would also like to return to the American Dream entertainment complex in New Jersey to explore more of its attractions and create videos.
For Savannah, the excitement isn’t limited to visiting new places. Creating the videos has become just as much a part of the adventure.
When asked what she enjoys most about being a content creator, she pointed to “filming videos and showing people what I do and all the adventures I go on and editing the videos.”
Although the growing audience has brought new opportunities, the heart of Adventure With Savannah remains the same as when it began: a father and daughter spending time together, exploring new places, and sharing those memories with others.
And with Savannah continuing to develop her skills behind the camera and in the editing process, each new adventure offers another opportunity to learn something along the way.
