PennDOT maintenance forces and private contractors have scheduled several construction projects in Berks County this week. To help our readers avoid travel delays, here are a few of the most notable projects.
In Ruscombmanor Twp., at the PA 12/PA 73 Intersection, lane restrictions are in place for utility work by a local utility company from 2/19/24 to 2/23/24, between 09:00 AM and 03:00 PM, without delays expected due to rain.
In Wyomissing Borough and City of Reading, on PA 12 between River Road and US 422, nighttime lane restrictions for construction by a PennDOT contractor are scheduled from 2/19/24 to 2/23/24, between 07:00 PM and 06:00 AM, with possible rain delays.
In Brecknock Twp., on US 222 between the Lancaster County Line and PA 568, surveying work by a PennDOT contractor will occur on 2/20/24 between 09:00 AM and 03:00 PM, without delays expected due to rain.
In Jefferson Township, drainage work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces will lead to lane restrictions on Boundary Line Road between Tilden Road and Shartlesville Road from 2/20/24, 07:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with rain possibly causing delays. Additionally, on Shartlesville Road between Old Route 22 and PA 183, the same restrictions apply from 2/21/24 to 2/23/24.
Brush cutting work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces will cause lane restrictions on County Line Road between Little Mountain Road and Meckville Road in Bethel Township from 2/20/24 to 2/23/24, with rain possibly causing delays. The same applies to brush cutting on PA 737 / Krumsville Road between Sutter Road and Kohlers Mill Road in Greenwich Township on 2/20/24.
In Albany Township, brush cutting will occur on PA 143 between Mountain Road and PA 737 / Krumsville Road from 2/21/24 to 2/23/24, with possible rain delays. On Interstate 78 between Exit 30 (Hamburg) and Exit 35 (PA 143) in Tilden Township, eastbound shoulder work is scheduled from 2/20/24 to 2/22/24, with rain possibly causing delays.
On PA 143 / Willow Street between Lehigh County Line and Mountain Road in Albany Township, other maintenance work will lead to lane restrictions from 2/23/24, 07:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with possible rain delays.
Lastly, on Interstate 176 between Exit 11 (US 422) and Exit 1 (PA 10) in Brecknock Township and Cumru Township, shoulder work and lane closure northbound respectively, are scheduled from 2/20/24 to 2/21/24 and on 2/22/24, both between 07:00 AM and 03:00 PM, with rain possibly causing delays. Additionally, bridge repair work on US 422 between Penn Avenue and Lancaster Avenue in the City of Reading is set from 2/20/24 to 2/23/24, 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM, with possible rain delays.
