Reading Extending Free Garage Parking through the Weekend

Reading Parking Authority will be extending free garage parking for City residents due to snowfall from the winter storm. Gates at all Reading Parking Authority garages will now remain open through 8am on Monday, February 8, 2021.

Reading Parking Authority had already made free garage parking available for residents through Wednesday morning, but has now extended parking to allow the Public Works Department additional time to clear the city’s streets.

City residents are encouraged to park their vehicles in a garage so snow plows can clear the streets as effectively and efficiently as possible. Those households with multiple cars are especially encouraged to take advantage of garage parking.

Removing vehicles from the street also minimizes over-crowding in neighborhoods, which often creates hazardous conditions for both drivers and pedestrians.

Anyone utilizing an RPA garage while entrance gates are up is still asked to pull a ticket to enter.

Exit gates will be up until 8am Monday, February 8, and parkers can exit without payment.

After 8am on February 8, gates will be down. Payment using the ticket pulled on entrance will be required to exit.
