Celebrating the new partnership between Klein Transportation and OurBus, city and county officials gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony at bus shelter #2 Saturday afternoon in downtown Reading.
Beiber abruptly stopped service almost a year ago, leaving Downtown Reading with no intercity bus service. Picking up where the Beiber Transportation Group left off, the new bus shelter will connect Berks residents to New York City via the OurBus service.
OurBus is a technology platform that specializes in intercity and crowdsourced bus routes. In December, OurBus began a pilot program in Reading.
“The residents of Reading and the surrounding areas have been asking for better transportation options for years now, and there is clearly a need,” said Axel Hellman, Co-founder of OurBus.
“We’re working hard to give them the services they deserve, like bringing bus service back to Reading’s downtown.”
To transport passengers, OurBus has partnered with Douglassville based Klein Transportation. According to OurBus, the bus journey from Reading to New York City takes 2 hours and 40 minutes. The bus stop in New York City is located at 368 Park Avenue South, New York, NY Park Avenue South between 26th and 27th.
