Three facing drug charges after police raid home in Exeter Township

A months long drug investigation has resulted in 3 arrests and the seizure of a sizable amount of suspected heroin/fentanyl Friday morning in Exeter Township.

Exeter Township Police Department, in partnership with Berks County Detectives, and officers from the Berks County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1300 block of Butter Lane in Exeter Township early Friday morning.

According to a public information release by the department, entry to the property was made by the Berks County Emergency Response Team. Detectives then conducted a search and seized the following evidence: A quantity of suspected heroin/fentanyl that was packaged for sale. .30-06 caliber rifle. Five scales and various drug packaging materials.

51-year-old Christopher W. Smith and his girlfriend, 42-year-old Christy R. Petitijean, were arrested and charged with Possession With the Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance and Criminal Conspiracy related charges. Smith was also additionally charged with a firearm violation.

Police added that a third 34-year-old woman will be charged later with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The Berks County Animal Rescue League also assisted with the removal of a dog from the residence.
