Reading’s Riverfront Park will once again serve as the hub for environmental action and family-friendly fun during the 4th Annual RIVERZILLA Community Day & Park Clean-Up on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Hosted by the City of Reading Public Works Department in collaboration with Schuylkill River Greenways, Widoktadwen Center for Native Knowledge, 18th Wonder Improvement Association, Take It Outdoors Outfitters, and The Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River, the event aims to connect residents with the city’s natural resources through hands-on activities and outdoor recreation.
The day begins at 9:00 a.m. with a riverbank cleanup along the Schuylkill River. Volunteers are encouraged to wear sturdy, water-friendly footwear; cleanup supplies will be provided.
From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the community is invited to stay and enjoy the Riverzilla Community Day event, which features a wide range of free activities including kayaking demonstrations, trail bike loans, crafts, watershed education, food, and outdoor games suitable for all ages.
Admission is free, and the event will take place at Riverfront Park, 407 Riverfront Drive, Reading.
Organizers hope the day will inspire continued care for local parks and waterways while providing families with a fun way to enjoy the outdoors.
