The City of Reading, in collaboration with Berks Festival Inc., is excited to host the 29th Annual New Year’s Eve Fireworks Celebration. The fireworks display will take place at 9:30 PM on December 31st, offering a family-friendly time for residents and visitors to ring in the New Year together.
Mayor Eddie Morán welcomed the return of the annual celebration, stating, “The New Year’s Eve fireworks are a long-standing tradition in Reading and a moment for our community to come together. I want to thank our Fire & Police Department, and Berks Festival Inc. for their continued coordination to ensure this event is both safe and enjoyable for everyone.”
William Koch, Sr., CPA, President of Berks Festival Inc., shared his excitement, adding, “Berks Festivals is honored to once again spearhead the organization of the First Night celebratory fireworks from Mt. Penn. As we turn our gaze upward, we welcome the New Year with hope and optimism for what lies ahead.”
For those who would like to enjoy music synchronized with the fireworks display, WEEU 830 AM will once again provide a musical soundtrack to accompany the celebration. The broadcast can be heard on the radio at 830 AM, streamed online at 830WEEU.com, or through LIVE365 or Audacy apps.
The City reminds all residents and visitors that setting off unpermitted fireworks within 150 feet of structures is both illegal and hazardous. Please celebrate responsibly to ensure a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve for all. The Pagoda gates will remain closed for the evening, so residents are encouraged to enjoy the fireworks from the comfort of their homes, porches, or favorite neighborhood spots.
