Family Promise secures $20K grant from Clayton to prevent homelessness for families in Berks County

Family Promise of Berks County recently received a $20,000 grant from Clayton, ensuring that families in Berks County receive the support they need to stay safely housed.

The grant is a portion of the $2 million dollars Clayton is donating to the Family Promise national network. The funds are a result of the recently announced partnership extension between Family Promise and Clayton. A Future Begins at Home, the initiative created through this collaboration is focused on supporting families experiencing homelessness by helping them remain in their homes and quickly regain stability. Since its inception in 2019, A Future Begins at Home has helped catalyze over $14 million in additional funding, resulting in more than 43,000 families served.

“The financial support received by Clayton allows us to be innovative in the way we help the unsheltered in our community. We are deeply grateful for the support and tangible difference it makes in service delivery, resource acquisition, and direct impact to families with children!” said Jill Glose, M.A, Executive Director.

In addition to Clayton’s generous financial support, they have donated 20 homes to the Family Promise national network since 2019, including one to Family Promise Berks coming this summer of 2026. These homes are used primarily as transitional housing, allowing families to stay together while receiving case management and support services as they work toward permanent housing.
