Thorn Alley Kitchen, located at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in downtown Reading, is expanding its dining offerings with the launch of Sunday brunch beginning November 8, while also welcoming Malik Moss as its new general manager.
The restaurant will serve brunch every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a new menu developed by Chef Harley Eighmey that combines traditional breakfast favorites with creative dishes.
Since opening in April, Thorn Alley Kitchen has developed a following for its menu and atmosphere. The addition of Sunday brunch is intended to build on that momentum while offering guests another dining option in downtown Reading.
The new menu includes Fried Chicken and Waffles made with locally raised Bell & Evans chicken in a gluten-free rice flour batter, Shrimp and Grits with chorizo and golden figs, and a Breakfast Burger featuring grass-fed beef, a fried egg, and pesto aioli. Other selections include Whipped Ricotta on challah toast, Shakshuka Pizza, and the Big Breakfast Bowl.
Traditional breakfast options will also be available, including Breakfast Tacos, Eggs Benedict, omelets, and French Toast, each featuring the restaurant’s own variations.
Brunch beverages will include mimosas, mimosa flights, Bloody Marys, espresso martinis, and specialty coffee from Lancaster-based Passenger Coffee. The restaurant will also offer pastries from Sweet Street Desserts, along with gluten-free and vegetarian menu selections.
In addition to expanding its menu, Thorn Alley Kitchen has appointed Moss as general manager. His arrival comes as the restaurant works to improve its service operations through enhanced staff training, better coordination between the kitchen and dining room, and the introduction of Resy, a reservation system designed to improve guest flow.
“Thorn Alley Kitchen has already established itself as a destination for outstanding food in downtown Reading, and we’re excited to build on that foundation,” said Moss. “We’ve been listening carefully to our guests as we continue to refine the experience. We’re proud of the reception our food has received and equally committed to delivering hospitality that matches that quality.”
The restaurant’s new Sunday brunch service begins November 8, with reservations now available.
