Fox Theatres will participate in a nationwide effort, Stand With Ukraine: The Guide, a special release of The Guide, the 2014 Ukrainian entry to the Academy Awards for best foreign film.
The film will play Wednesday, March 23, at 6pm at Fox Berkshire, 800 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing. All of the money from ticket sales will go to the Ukraine Relief Fund.
“We are honored to be part of an industry wide movement to help the relief efforts for the citizens of Ukraine,” said Donald Fox, president of Fox Theatres.
In The Guide, an American boy and blind musician are thrown together by fate amidst the 1930’s Russian subjugation of Ukraine. The “Terror Famine” of the 30’s is incredibly current given the attempts of Russia to once again crush the independence and freedom of their neighbor, Ukraine.
The film is presented in Ukrainian & Russian with English subtitles.
All of the ticket sales will go to the Ukraine Relief Fund that has been established in cooperation with Human & Civil Rights Organizations of America, Inc. (HCROA). The HCROA is managing donations and ensuring they reach organizations working effectively in Ukraine and countries supporting Ukrainian refugees.
