Birdsboro Indoor Pool Facility to Permanently Close

Birdsboro Fitness & Splash announced Wednesday they will not be reopening when Pennsylvania moves to the green phase on Friday, citing the financial issues during the pandemic as the cause.

“Due to costly renovations needed to keep the facility operating, along with the revenue freeze during the months that the facility was closed to comply with COVID-19 restrictions, the Birdsboro Municipal Authority concluded that the facility can no longer operate as a viable business.” posted Birdsboro Fitness & Splash on social media.

The Birdsboro Municipal Authority owns the facility Birdboro Fitness & Splash is located in.

“This is a sad day for the community as BFS was a centerpiece in a lot of social gatherings, a place for the youth to learn to swim and a place for members of our community to go to stay active. We took pride in being one of the only pools in Berks County and being able to provide a service that most facilities would love to have.”

Birdsboro Fitness & Splash say they have been actively working to create a closing plan to handle member requests, refunds, and answer any questions. They also state that memberships will be terminated immediately or refunded based on their policies.

“Thank you for an amazing 4 years & we wish you nothing but the best moving forward. Please keep in touch with staff members you have connected with as this is a tough time for them as well.”
