Helping Harvest Food Bank received a $8,500 donation from Dunkin’ of greater Philadelphia Monday morning to help fight hunger throughout the region. This donation comes from Dunkin’ of greater Philadelphia’s Roast Hunger program, which began on Thanksgiving Day through December 9.
For every large hot coffee purchased by DD Perks members, Dunkin’s Philadelphia-area franchisees donated $1 to five regional food bank partners, including Helping Harvest Food Bank.
This donation will directly support the food bank’s mission to provide safe and nutritional food to people in need throughout Berks and Schuylkill Counties.
Dunkin’ arrived to Helping Harvest with their Community Cruiser, handing out free samples of Hot Coffee to volunteers and staff of Helping Harvest to celebrate the donation.
Since Dunkin’s Roast Hunger program inception in 2011, local Dunkin’ franchisees have been able to impact countless families in need and provide over 4 million meals to local communities.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Roast Hunger program, Dunkin’ has surpassed a significant fundraising milestone of $2 million donated in total over the last decade by local franchisees to help fight hunger in the greater Philadelphia region.
The Helping Harvest Food Bank collects, purchases, stores, and distributes over 11 million pounds of food annually to the more than 320 programs which feed the hungry in Berks and Schuylkill Counties.
