PA CareerLink Berks County reopened Monday for in-person appointments. Staff will be following COVID-19 social distancing and mitigation guidelines.
Services include career exploration, job search assistance, resume development, access to training funds for qualifying customers, GED test prep, and assistance for targeted jobseeker populations including veterans, young adults, in-school youth, persons with disabilities, re-entrants and dislocated workers.
In addition, officials say the the Unemployment Compensation Courtesy Phones will remain shut down at all PA CareerLink sites for public health and safety reasons until further notice.
“We understand that claimants have been experiencing tremendous difficulty over the past four months when trying to reach staff from Unemployment Compensation and that not having a courtesy phone at the PA CareerLink may be disappointing to claimants who have relied on these courtesy phones in the past,” said Dan Fogarty, Chief Operating Officer of the Berks County Workforce Development Board.
“The purpose of this announcement is to eliminate additional frustration when a claimant arrives at the PA CareerLink, only to learn that the UC courtesy phone is not available.”
For these and other services, call 610-988-1300 to speak with a PA CareerLink Berks County representative. If your call is not answered directly, officials say staff will return your call if you leaving a detailed message.
