PSP Troop L reports 23 crashes, 20 DUI arrests over Easter Holiday weekend

As part of its ongoing commitment to safety, the Pennsylvania State Police conducted its Easter holiday enforcement over the weekend and has released the results of the annual initiative.

Statewide from Friday, March 29 to Sunday, March 31, PSP investigated 407 crashes resulting in six fatalities and 90 injuries. Intoxicated driving was a factor in 46 of those crashes, two of which were fatal.

Troopers arrested 358 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and issued 17,168 traffic citations, including: 5,285 for speeding. 557 for failing to wear a seatbelt. 90 for not securing children in safety seats

Troop L, which covers Berks, Lebanon, and Schuylkill recorded the following data:

Easter 2024 Weekend Crash Data: 23 crashes, 1 fatal crashes, 3 people injured, 3 alcohol related crashes (none fatal).

Enforcement Data: 20 DUI arrests, 543 speeding citations, 3 child seat citations, 28 seat belt citations, 13 seatbelt warnings, 616 other citations and 19 self initiated criminal arrests.

These statistics cover only those incidents investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police and do not include incidents to which other law enforcement agencies responded.
