A 13-year-old boy was injured Saturday afternoon in a watercraft accident at Blue Marsh Lake, according to emergency dispatch reports.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near the State Hill Road boat ramp in Lower Heidelberg Township. It was initially reported that the boy had been operating a jet ski when he was struck by a boat.
Police were first to arrive on scene and reported that the boy had sustained serious injuries. While the full extent of his condition has not been officially disclosed, he was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Emergency personnel, including Western Berks Ambulance, Western Berks Fire Department, Lower Heidelberg Township Police Department and Blue Marsh Lake Park Rangers responded to the incident. Authorities have not released any further information at this time.
