The Berks County Intermediate Unit will host an Education Hiring Event on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Church (131 N 9th St., Reading, PA 19601) and a Transportation Hiring Event on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the BCIU Main Office (1111 Commons Blvd., Reading, PA 19605).
The hiring events will provide an opportunity for employment for people interested in working in the early childhood and transportation fields.
At the Education Hiring Event on June 13, 2024, the BCIU is seeking applicants interested in becoming a teacher or assistant teacher (paraeducator) who want to enrich the life of a child. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to interview onsite at the event, experience a tour of a Head Start classroom, and learn about training opportunities and curriculum used to teach the children.
At the Transportation Hiring Event on June 19, 2024, the BCIU is looking to fill immediate openings for school bus drivers, van drivers, and bus/van assistants to serve local school districts. Bus drivers can earn up to $30.10 per hour depending on experience, van drivers can earn $20.60 per hour, and bus/van assistants can earn up to $17.25 per hour.
