Explorers will participate in a variety of activities and events throughout the year including community service, leadership conferences, attending career orientations, a block week simulation, and participating in various educational excursions all while acquiring important skills needed for a successful career in law enforcement and building a valuable network of contacts that will serve them well into their future careers.

The Berks County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post number (#027) was selected in honor of Deputy Sheriff Kyle Pagerly who was killed in the line of duty on June 29, 2011 while serving a felony warrant in Northern Berks County. Deputy Pagerly was enrolled to help with the Post’s startup prior to his death.

Enrollment is now open. Interested candidates can review and download the application in preparation for 2023. Applications will be accepted until December 31, 2022.
