In a bid to celebrate outstanding community spirit and home maintenance, the City of Reading has announced the launch of the “My Super Neighbor” competition. This collaborative initiative involves the Property Maintenance Department, Public Works, and Keep Reading Beautiful, aiming to recognize exceptional efforts in home upkeep while fostering a culture of caring, accountability, respect, and community engagement.
Residents are encouraged to actively participate by nominating deserving neighbors who exemplify dedication to maintaining and beautifying their properties or common public spaces. The competition, reflecting the city’s commitment to community development and environmental stewardship, seeks to strengthen the sense of community and neighborhood pride.
The competition features a “Best Kept House” theme, with notable prizes up for grabs. The grand prize is a Summer Block Party, offering a vibrant celebration for the entire neighborhood. Nominees won’t go unnoticed either, as they stand a chance to be appreciated with a Holiday Banquet. Additionally, there are various opportunities for monthly prizes throughout the year.
Nominations are open starting January 2024, marking the beginning of a year-long celebration and recognition of exemplary neighbors. Monthly prize drawings will commence from February 2024, leading up to the grand prize drawing scheduled for January 2025.
This city-wide initiative is open to all residents, whether homeowners or renters.
