The Reading Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has released information regarding a sexual assault investigation that took place in the area of N 3rd Street & Douglass Street at approximately 3:00 PM on March 13, 2024.
According to the police, a male suspect approached a juvenile female, displayed a firearm, and forcibly placed her into a vehicle. The victim was transported to another location where she was sexually assaulted. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape from the suspect’s custody and promptly notified law enforcement.
Following the investigation, police identified the suspect as Liam Wilkinson, a 24-year-old male from Blandon. An arrest warrant was issued against Wilkinson, charging him with rape, kidnapping, and firearms-related offenses.
Wilkinson was taken into custody without incident in Sinking Spring. He is currently in custody and awaiting arraignment.
