8/5/20 – 10:30pm – Following a lengthy executive session, the school board resumed the livestream for a public vote.
The school board has voted (8-1) to choose “Scenario 3B”, which means all teaching staff and students will be off site. This will take effect for a the entire first quarter. This includes the following:
- Structured school day and student schedule
- Daily attendance taken
- Mandatory, graded assignments submitted through Google Classroom
- On-demand video lessons recorded by one teacher, as designated by the district, for a subject and/or grade level. Other teachers then push out the videos to students.
- Daily, small group live instruction with RSD teachers from their classrooms throughout the school day
- Specials conducted virtually
- Grab-and-go lunch distribution available for remote learners
- Chromebooks available for students who do not have access to a computer/laptop (no longer 1 chromebook per family)
As a part of full remote learning, the district will launch a 1-to-1 Chromebook Program, and Grab-and-Go Meals will continue to be available at our designated meal distribution sites.
