Free Winter Arts Camp brings stories, crafts, and fun to Reading youth

Through crafts, tradition, and cheer, children in Reading will be creating a holiday break to remember next week.

The second annual Winter Arts Camp will take place at the WCR Center for the Arts, 140 N. 5th St., on Monday, November 25th, and Tuesday, November 26th, 10AM-1PM. The two-day arts camp is for children ages 7-12 years old and participation is free.

The camp will provide an opportunity for the children to make holiday-related crafts, participate in dances and games, hear stories, and learn about traditions and holidays from various cultures. This year’s camp features crafts related to New Years and Thanksgiving. Guest speakers will present and teach campers about the winter solstice and Chinese New Year.

The Winter Arts Camp is presented in partnership with the WCR Center for the Arts, Barrio Alegría, Olivet Boys and Girls Club, Reading Recreation Commission, and powered by a grant from the Neag Foundation and the many committed volunteers. The WCR Center for the Arts continues to grow its children’s arts education programming for the Reading community.
