“The American Spirit” Named Wyomissing’s 4th of July Parade Theme

The annual 4th of July Parade in Wyomissing will be held on Thursday, July 4th beginning at 10:00am. The theme this year is “The American Spirit”. In addition to the traditional entries, the Reading Fightin Phils and the Reading Royals will return with their fun and crazy mascots. Antique and Classic cars will be among the many other community groups winding through the parade route.

The following bands will be in parade: The Buccaneer Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps, The Reading Philharmonic Band, The Hawk Mountain Highlanders, Pretzel City Dixieland Jazz Band, The Happy Dutchman German Band, Hesse’s Hot Jazz, and the Rajah Chanters.

The parade will end at the Stone House near Wyomissing Creek where music will be provided by the Wyomissing Band and the Pretzel City Dixieland Jazz Band. Other activities will include the annual Pie Eating Contest, pony rides, clowns with balloon sculptures, kayak rides in the pond, the Rubber Ducky Race, which supports the Wyomissing Public Library and many, many more activities. Refreshments provided by community groups will be for sale.

Parade Route Parade kicks off at 1200 Cleveland Ave. and Wyomissing Blvd. Cleveland Ave. to Evans Ave. Evans to Garfield Ave. Garfield Ave. to Forest Ave. Forest Ave. to Girard Ave. Girard Ave. to Wyomissing Blvd. to Parkside Dr. North and ends at the Stone House
The Rain Date for the parade is Saturday, July 6th – same schedule as 4th of July.
