LGBT Center opens wellness clinic in Reading to promote inclusivity in healthcare

The LGBT Center of Greater Reading has announced the grand opening of its LGBTQ+ Wellness Clinic. The clinic aims to revolutionize healthcare for the LGBTQ+ community by offering a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where individuals can access high-quality medical health, and existing mental health services.

The grand opening of the LGBT Center Wellness Clinic will take place on January 9, 2024 at 1:30pm at the LGBT Center location: 640 Centre Ave., Reading PA. The Clinic’s inauguration will showcase a diverse range of speakers who will preside over the ribbon-cutting, sharing their insights, perspectives and personal experiences.

With an understanding of the unique healthcare needs of the LGBTQ+ community, the LGBT Center has assembled a team of expert physicians, practitioners, and support staff who possess a deep commitment to providing culturally competent care. Initially, the clinic will offer a suite of specialized services provided by the following practitioners that includes:

1. The AIDS Care Group – HIV, and STI screening, treatment and education; PrEP/PEP services; Pregnancy and Clinical Chemistry.
2. Dr. Tabetha Super’s House of Health – Chiropractic and massage services.
3. Reiki Balance – Reiki and mindfulness services.
4. Co-County Wellness Services – HIV screening.

The Center is thrilled to announce that Dr. K. Ashley Brandt, FACOG; Gender Affirming Surgeon, will serve as the Clinical Director.

From the free/low cost counseling services, case management, food pantry, educational programs, drop-in services and more, the LGBT Center ensures evidence-based, and culturally competent care.

“As we navigate 2024, we will be seeking additional providers that will include a General Practitioner and/or Nurse Practitioner, Nutritionist, Infectious Disease Specialist, etc., to join this collective initiative.”
