The Muhlenberg Township Parks & Recreation Department is planning a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 31st at 9am at Jim Dietrich Park near the flag pole.
The program will consist of a decorated military personal and State Rep. Mark Rozzi as speakers. The posting of the colors will be done by Boy Scout Troops #161 and #155. Music will be provided by a Brass Ensemble from the Muhlenberg High School under the direction of Nathan Mohler.
“General Logan’s Orders” will be read by a member of the Muhlenberg High School ROTC. and “In Flanders’s Field will be recited by a Boy Scout. Wreaths will be laid in honor of Gold Star families, Fallen Police Officers, Fallen Fire Fighters and all military branches.
Light refreshments will be served afterward at the park’s pavilion. “Please join us as we recognize those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our nation” reads a statement from the Township.
