MONAT Gratitude has awarded local Pennsylvania nonprofit IM ABLE Foundation with a $10,000 grant, part of its $1 million pledge to close achievement gaps in underserved communities around the world.
The grant will fund programs in Wyomissing, Pa. that remove obstacles preventing youth with physical, cognitive, and behavioral challenges from being physically active.
“MONAT Gratitude is devoted to trail-blazing initiatives that support people in the communities in which we live and work,” said MONAT Gratitude CEO Lu Urdaneta. “This grant will help IM ABLE Foundation in its important mission to better the community through sports and exercise mentorship programs.”
This grant is part of MONAT Gratitude’s ongoing efforts to support new and existing initiatives in arts and culture, youth sports and recreation, and youth entrepreneurship around the world.
IM ABLE Foundation provides adaptive equipment grants and inclusive programming for people of all abilities, including various recreational programs and educational initiatives led by strong-minded mentors and leaders.
The organization plans to use the funding to expand their Operation Lead from the Front Program, which matches a veteran or first responder with a child with a physical, cognitive, and/or behavioral challenge in a mentoring relationship based around physical activity and safe exercise.
“MONAT Gratitude is an example of an organization doing great work and choosing to give back by helping advance the cause of nonprofits. We are extraordinarily grateful to them for helping us bring a better life to the youth in our community,” said Chris Kaag, Founder/CEO of the IM ABLE Foundation.
IM ABLE Foundation is one of the 15 recipients in the first grant cycle. MONAT Gratitude will periodically announce more winners over the next 12 months. Eligible nonprofits can learn more and apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 through MONAT Gratitude’s grant page at monatgratitude.com.
