The Humane Society of Berks County will host “Spike’s Pet Pantry Donation Drive-Thru” on Saturday at Schell’s Dairy Swirl in Muhlenberg Township. The donation drive will be accepting unopened bags of dry dog and cat food.
The event will be held from 11am to 1pm. Individuals wishing to donate will just need to drive up, and staff from Humane Pennsylvania will unload the donation and place it onto the donation collection truck.
Spike’s Pet Pantry aims to ensure that no one has to give up a family member simply because of the temporary inability to afford pet food. By supplying pet food donations directly to pet owners at the Humane Pennsylvania’s Community Resource Center, and through the county’s network of human food pantries, the organization is able to provide Berks County pets with the food they need to remain healthy, safe and loved with their families.
“Anyone can fall on hard times and struggle with providing even the basics for their pets. Donating to Spike’s Pet Pantry is an easy way to help make sure that no pet in the Reading area will go to bed hungry.”
