RAWA Providing Portable Water for Customers in Need

3/21/20 – Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, at 10am, Reading Area Water Authority will open a second location to provide the community with water. The water buffalo will be located across from Penske on River Road, open 8am to 8pm daily.

3/16/20 – Reading Area Water Authority is offering free portable water to customers who are in need. Customers can fill containers at a water buffalo located at the Reading Area Water Authority parking lot on Kutztown Road.

Mayor Moran made the announcement on Friday during a Coronavirus press conference at City Hall. Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, 8am through 8pm, the RAWA portable water buffalo will be available to residents wishing to fill containers with clean, safe drinking water.

Bill Murry, Executive Director, says the water buffalo will be available 7 days a week until further notice.

“Depending on the utilization the Mayor and I have had some conversations on having more of them available throughout the city for the convenience of the people” said Murry, at Friday’s press conference.

To help those without containers, water authority employees are also providing a limited amount of plastic milk style jugs for ‘grab and go’ service.

The water buffalo is located at 1801 Kutztown Rd, Reading PA 19604.
