After nine years of service, Jennifer Reimer, president of the board of directors of the Reading Theater Project, has announced her retirement, marking the end of an era. Reimer has been a pillar guiding RTP with her unwavering dedication showcasing her leadership and commitment.
Reimer was a founding board member, joining the board in 2015. She has been instrumental in leading numerous initiatives that helped to recruit and retain a diverse and talented board, fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation. Reimer’s success included event planning, fundraising milestones, and community outreach.
“Jen’s contributions have been extraordinary,” said Vicki Haller Graff, Artistic Director of RTP. “Her passion for the arts and her dedication to our mission have left an indelible mark on our organization. We are deeply grateful for her service and leadership.”
Throughout her tenure, Reimer spearheaded projects that included the much loved Cabaret during Berks Jazz Fest. Reimer’s presidency will leave a lasting impact on both RTP and the community.
“I have been honored to serve as president of the RTP board,” said Reimer. “The success and growth achieved over the years will always be a testament of hard work and passion from the whole board. I look forward to seeing how RTP continues to grow.”
Following in Reimer’s footsteps will be Amy DeShazo as the interim president of the board. As the owner of Teameo, a Berks County-based workforce consulting firm, DeShazo brings extensive experience in human resources, uniquely positioning her to lead the search for our next president and new board members. Additionally, DeShazo’s background in costume and parade puppet creation, along with her commitment to community engagement, makes her an excellent fit for this role.
