Two victims of R.M. Palmer explosion identified by Coroner

The Berks County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identities of two victims from the March 24th explosion and building collapse at the R.M. Palmer factory in West Reading.

The two victims are 49-year-old Amy S. Sandoe of Ephrata and 60-year-old Domingo Cruz of Reading.

Additional recovery efforts at the West Reading factory site continue Monday in order to ensure no additional victims remain.

The Coroner’s Office has recovered the remains of seven individuals in total. Additional forensic medical examinations are required to positively identify the five remaining victims.

In coordination with West Reading Police Department and Berks County Forensic Service Unit, the Coroner’s Office is conducting death investigations for all victims into the cause and manner of death.

Autopsies are expected to be completed by the end of week.
