A helicopter was called in from the Jim Thorpe area to drop water on the 2-alarm brush fire Wednesday afternoon in District Township. Located near Cherry Drive, the fire spread to roughly 16 acres. As of Wednesday evening, the fire is reported to be contained, with hotspots expected to burn themselves out.
