The United States Geological Survey detected a small earthquake in Wyomissing Friday afternoon. The magnitude 2.4 quake was recorded on April 19th, at a depth of 8 kilometers, roughly a half mile northeast of Lincoln Park.
The recorded time was 4:36pm. According to an interactive map on the USGS website, the epicenter is located near the intersection of Lauers Lane and Cambridge Road in the borough.

According to the USGS, Berks falls into the Lancaster seismic zone of southeastern Pennsylvania. Earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S., although less frequent than in the western U.S., are typically felt over a much broader region. East of the Rockies, an earthquake can be felt over an area as much as ten times larger than a similar magnitude earthquake on the west coast.
